Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: Isaiah 46:4

4 even to your old age I am he,    and to gray hairs I will carry you.I have made, and I will bear;    I will carry and will save.

Today’s reading: Proverbs 8, 9; 2 Corinthians 3

How Do They See Jesus In Us?

Let’s get personal-way down deep.

What is it you really want?

In Nehemiah, chapter 2,

King Artaxerxes asked Nehemiah, “What do you want?” In Nehemiah 2:5, He says, “So I prayed to God”. This means that as he was standing there before the King, he asked God for the courage and the words to say exactly what was on His heart.

Yes, I know I am not a king. But this life is a life of questions and decisions. Will we be like Nehemiah and take that split second to declare our dependence on God or will we not-will we depend on our carnal nature to answer all the questions and make decisions?

I must love my neighbor as I love myself. I love myself because this love is shown to me by loving God in Christ with all I am. I must love God more than myself before I can love myself the way God intends-but when this has become my truth, myself is precious to me because it exists miraculously because of and only in Christ Jesus. My truth in Christ is where I find my meaning-my satisfaction, my fulfillment-my significance and my security.

Ask God-”What do I want?” The answer to our greatest want may not be in His will. It may even bring some shame. But don’t stop-pour it out. Tell God you want to find your satisfaction in Him. This may be a new way of thinking for a lot of us. This is because we have not been urged to get under the surface of our carnal desires because we have not dug deeply enough to ‘hear’ God’s voice.

Tell God you feel sorrow for not paying attention to His details.

Some say God is in the details but we know that the details are in God-all the details. So we must ask Him in the spur of the moment just as Nehemiah did.

What is this about? When our truth is in Christ and the joy of our lives is all in God in Christ, we truly want it all for our neighbors-remember-love thy neighbor? This is how they see something in us they desire-and it is Christ in us, the hope of Glory.

Much work to do-pray seek-find.

...because God loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

I want to lift up Your name in this earth. Give me the desire to want Your salvation and Your kingdom for my enemies. I ask for desire to be obedient and to love You more. Forgive me for yielding to my weaknesses. Lead me away from evil.

Father of righteousness,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
