Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day: Romans 12:1
12 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Today’s reading: Jeremiah 18-19 2 Timothy 3
To Not Deviate
Deviation from following God-deviation from walking in the Spirit of God-to not pray without ceasing-to be unconscious of God-one writer calls this ‘functional atheism’ where we embrace the ‘anarchy it offers’. Whatever it is called, it is sin.
“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” (Proverbs 28:9)
Deviation from God’s heart, will, and life is sin. His will is for each of us to be on ‘speaking terms’ with Him. If we sin, we must confess it and clean our own windshield so we can see the road He has made for us to follow. If we have sin in the way, we cannot hear God’s word in our lives. It is that simple. Our sin makes it impossible to hear God in us. Any deviation from the righteousness of God is sin. That is the reason God breathed the scripture that says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all this will be added”(Matthew 6:33). Deviation from that verse tells us that we will not be able to find what God has provided-sin is in the way.
Prayer is the key. Keeping communication open between us and God by being honest with Him and conscious of Him is the way to His kingdom wisdom and His righteousness.
No-other-way.
Stay clean-be free-hear God.
Because He loves us, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my life as it is in Heaven. Give me today what You know I need. Forgive me for ignoring my sin. Keep me from evil.
Loving Father,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
