Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Psalm 18:30
30 “This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.”
Today’s Reading: Job 34-35 Acts 15:1-21
To Know The Difference
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
There are many things that the human mind cannot do and one of them is to keep life from happening. We cannot control today or tomorrow. This is always beyond our reach-beyond what we can control. Why?
We never control anything on this earth but our own minds-what we think. In light of this truth we must train our minds in Godly ways of handling things.
A major part of worry that we hardly consider is how it effects our physical being. Worry manifests itself in each person differently but always results in some king of structural tension and a life of this brings medical problems that we do not need.
What we need is a consciousness of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can and will, if we allow it, show us how to float in His grace. He can show us a calm and even reaction to trouble and pain-to hate and anger against us.
We must find God’s place for us in His peace. God’s word teaches us to meditate.
Psalm 119:23 “Even though princes sit and talk against me,Your servant meditates on Your statutes.”I believe that God wills us to have control enough(Holy Spirit self control, Galatians 5:23) to not let the least bit of hate and anger to rise up and change our behavior. Look at Jesus after His beatings and being spat upon and laughed at on the way to the cross. His demeanor never changed. Jesus is our example.
Jesus would disappear and pray a great deal. So how did Jesus meditate? He was alone with God and listened. He prayed for His people and His ministry but He listened to His Father in Heaven. He did this so much that His demeanor was sinlessly controlled.
He gave us His Holy Spirit-the Spirit of Truth so we could sit quietly and listen to prepare us for the times of loud crashing pain and trouble that each day is sufficient with.
There is a difference in anxiety of your mind and your body One controls the other. You can worry and tie your body in knots(which just gives you more to worry about)-or learn control from the Holy Spirit and learn what Jesus meant when He said, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.“John 15:11
God gives us this control-to stay in His place of peace and rejoice in His control in His worry free Spirit.
Tell Him this is where you want to be.
...because He loves us...He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your matchless name. Show me Your kingdom ways. Let me experience Your peace that the world cannot explain today. Forgive me for not trusting You and worrying.
Lead me away from wasting Your time.
Long suffering Father of all peace and joy,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
