Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse:Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: 1 Samuel 16:7

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

To Enter the Kingdom

Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door.”

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:25).

The point to all this about ‘entering the narrow gate’ is Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God…” The narrow door or gate is into God’s kingdom. This may be so obvious to some but elusive to others because of all our conditioning in a strong traditional setting. It is hard to break loose of ‘ingraining’. So, what we have to do is go back to the scripture and listen.

In Romans, chapter 6, Paul tell us in verse 5, “Christ died, and we have been joined with Christ by dying too.” (We have died to sin in Christ-buried with Him in baptism and raised) In verse 8,  “If we died with Christ, we know that we will also live with him. 9 Death has no power over him now.11 In the same way, you should see yourselves as being dead to the power of sin and alive with God through Christ Jesus.

Death, sin living in us, has no power over us.

Sin has no power that we do not give it.

We must know the power of God’s word through His Spirit in us and learn how to stand Holy Spirit strong as we fight the inner battle of learning that sin does not control us unless we will it.

God gives us all we need to know this victory in our hearts and minds. Fight for it.

Tell God you want to be Holy Spirit strong.

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your name-Your name is victory. Give me greater vision of Your kingdom. Give me clarity today as I fight for your narrow path. Forgive me my weak will and lead me away from this weakness.

God of victory over death,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
