Time Enough

Thursday, ‎March ‎30, ‎2023

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 53:3-4 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

Memory of the Month: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Today's reading: JUDGES 9-10 LUKE 5:17-39

Enough Time

It has been said that 'God is not in time but time is in God'. This is to simply say that God is ageless and time is something that we have to deal with.

Someone came up with the term 'quality time'. We are to spend quality time with those we love. Try taking a push mower and mowing one swath across your deep grass-the best you can do it-one 'quality swath'-the rest of the grass still needs cutting.

So much for 'quality time'.

So, how much is enough time?

When we give gifts to those we love, they say it is the thought that counts. But just ask a bride who just got a gift from her husband on the field of battle on the other side of the world-would she rather have the gift or her husband at home.

I did my first wedding in 1988 and that bride just posted pictures online a few days ago on their anniversary. I had brown hair and smaller clothing-but there with me is my wife-

Ask anyone who has been married for years. It seems like it was yesterday. And for all the trials and whatever, we would go back and do it again if we could do it all with the same partner and we would attempt to do better by those we love. We would all like more time with those we love-it is natural.

God wants our attention-our conscious attention. He wants us to live and move and have our existence 'with' Him-in Him. How much time should we spend with God? All of it.

If we could go back, how would we attempt to do better by God?

We do so miss those we love when they are absent. Then, when we are reunited, the time is precious.

When we are absent(due to our bad choisces and sin), does God miss us? Yes-but-all that is erased when we return. God rejoices when we are consciously with Him because He loves us so entirely.

Jesus went to the cross...so we could be present with God...forever.

Pray for the deep desire to be present and conscious of Almighty God...

...because He loves us...

Our Father in Heaven,

I want to be with You always in my heart and mind. Forgive me my short attention and make my faith stronger-my desire to be with You consuming me.

Sweet and loving God!

In the name of Jesus Christ who died for me,

Amen
