Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ and endless power. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Isaiah 53:3-4

3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

Daily Reading: Judges 9-10 Luke 5:17-39

Throw Off the Weight

I have dealt with feelings of guilt for a long time from sins long ago and from sins of late. The enemy tries to load us down and keep us from being who God wants us to be-minute to minute. If the enemy can get a ‘foot on our necks’, we are in a bad place.

Here are a few thoughts on how God deals with our sin.

Psalm 103:10-13

10  He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12  as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. 13  As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

Because of His steadfast(complete and never-changing) love for us as a perfect father, he removes our sin from us as far as the east is from the west. But God is always with us, so, that means that God removes our sin from His mind also-does it not? When God forgives us, He chooses to never remember that sin ever again(Hebrews 8:12).

God also ‘sings over us.

Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV)

17  The Lord your God is in your midst,

a mighty one who will save;

he will rejoice over you with gladness;

he will quiet you by his love;

he will exult over you with loud singing.

We must claim this as our own and realize how God quiets us with His encompassing love. When we allow God to quiet us with His love-when?-what is keeping us from that place? What is keeping us from having God sing over us?

Whatever is on your heart, throw it off-unload it.

I Peter 5:6&7 -”Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Humbling self before God means to let go of your control-you do control your mind-let go and feel God’s steadfast love-imagine His singing-over you His child.

...because He loves us… He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

God of all greatness, let me imagine Your singing-over me in your kingdom. Let me realize Your steadfast love for me. Give me today the awareness of Your presence and care. Forgive me for grieving You with sin. Lead me away from carrying guilt.

Loving Father of my soul,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
