The Right Thing

What happens when all is well-when everything is going well with life and business and monetary concerns? Do we thank God and give Him glory?God warns through James in Chapter 4, verses 11-17, what can happen if we get away from consciously focusing on Him.

In verses 11 &12 James warns of judging our Christian family and asks, “Who are you to judge?” When we lose focus on God, the righteous judge, we start to judge-we have put ourselves in God’s place. Think about this the next time you judge someone and want to think ill of them and ask yourself, “Who am I to do this-I am not God?”

Things can go so well and we can forget about how we depend on God when we are having troubles. So, James 4 verses 13-18, warns us to stop and say, “If the Lord wills, we will live…”

It is by God’s sovereign grace we will do anything and by His will, we will live-outside of His will, we are dead in the water.

James tells us to think. Think on God-He is judge-He is provider. God has His Spirit living in us to show us how to live ‘right’. We must listen-intently.

James 4: 17 “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

Use God’s ‘common sense’. Think and talk to the Holy Spirit. He will always let you know what is right. It is that simple if we listen to God.

So listen…

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Teach me to hallow Your Holy name in all I do. Let Your kingdom ‘sense’ take over my thinking. Give me today what You know I need and give me the desire to use it. Forgive me for not listening. Lead me away from evil.
