Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day-Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Today’s reading: Psalm 54-56 Romans 3

The Word of My Heart

When a person says, “All I have is my word”, what does that mean? If I lose everything, all I have is my inner being to give my life meaning.

Hopefully, what I have inside me-that which makes me me is honorable. If Christ is my Lord, He is what makes me honorable.

Psalm 56:12 “I am bound by my vows to you, O Elohim(God).    I will keep my vows by offering songs of thanksgiving to you.” (Names of God Translation done by Jewish scholars)

The people who founded our country took personal honor very seriously. If they thought for any reason they could not keep a promise(a vow), the promise would not be made even for the smallest of things. If they broke a vow or promise, they would lose trust folks had in them and that trust meant life to them.

When we take Jesus as Lord, we give the Lord God our lives and He starts building His honor in us. The Holy Spirit plants all His fruit(Galatians 5:22&23) and we begin to take on the very heart of God in Christ Jesus-we begin to grow in ‘Christ-likeness’.

Psalm 56:12 says, “I will keep my vows by offering songs of thanksgiving to you.”

This simply but profoundly means “I will keep my word by worshiping You, oh God.” God’s presence makes our word trustworthy. God is our honor.

Romans 12: 12 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Based on what we have just read, our lives should be wrapped up in worshiping our Lord. This worship is based on what is in our hearts-worship starts in our hearts.

What is in your heart right now? Joy and satisfaction bring praise out. Do you have joy and satisfaction in the presence of the Holy Spirit right now?

If you do not, you are not alone because the enemy is doing all he can to minimize the Lord’s joy in us.

But stop and reach for God-reach with your heart and feel God’s grip on your life.

Ask God to show you all things wrong in you and ask Him to show you how to remove it because you want to be satisfied in Him and that you want Him to be the word of your heart.

...because He loves you, He will do…

Father in Heaven,

I want to hallow Your name and know Your kingdom. Forgive me for all the sin I have let creep in and fill me with Your feeling of praise. Lead me away from selfish desires and lead me to Your desires.

Father of Light,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
