Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and

just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Today’s reading: Isaiah 41-42 1 Thessalonians 1

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”

When Adam said nothing to stop Eve from eating the forbidden fruit and then ate some himself, sin was introduced in the form of confusion which it is today. Why do I say that?

Well, there was not doubt they were naked. The Bible says they sowed fig leaves together so they would not be naked. That was clear. Then God came walking and they hid, they said, because they knew they were naked. Wait...they were covered with fig leaves so why were they naked?

They were ashamed and did not want God to ‘see’ their sin.

They were confused. God knew what had happened. He always knows every detail of our lives. He asked to see if they would tell Him the truth.

Mankind has since been confused about how much God loves us. You see, God was about to banish them from the garden-drive them out(Genesis 3:23), but, before He did He made clothing for them out of animal skins.

His creation had failed and fallen. They had broken His heart. They would be separated from Him, objects of His anger and wrath(Ephesians 2), but first, God the Father in His endless love made them coverings of animal skins. Then, in heartbreak and judgment, drove them from the garden.

Because they had accepted the lies of the enemy, mankind has been forever confused. With the exception of the few of the chosen whose faith was counted as their righteousness(Romans 4:3) confusion continued until God, the Father, wiped out confusion in Christ Jesus.

In Christ we can see clearly now if we ‘listen’ with our hearts. That statement is still confusing to the lost world.

“The teaching about the cross seems foolish to those who are lost. But to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”(1 Corinthians 1:18)

So how does this help us today? We must constantly remind ourselves-we must remain conscious of the Holy Spirit because the enemy(same serpent from the garden) continuously tries to confuse us with ‘the small stuff’. In Christ, we don’t ‘sweat the small stuff’. If we slip out of righteous consciousness, that is all we do.

Keep the main thing the main thing.

Tell God you want to stay in the mind of Christ constantly(1 Corinthians 2:16).

...because He loves us, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Increase the awe in my heart for you so I may truly praise You and Your kingdom. Thank You for today’s provisions. Teach me how to stay alert and righteously conscious. Deliver me from the confusion of the enemy.

Father of perfect and clear minds,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
