Verse of the day- Colossians 1:27-28

27 “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”

The Only Light

Everything about the Lord is light. The only light we have is because of the Lord God. The only way we understand God’s plan or understand His word or hear His voice is because He puts light in our lamp-He is the light-our vision-our entire vision.

I believe we must hear Jesus ask us like he asked the blind man in Luke 18:41, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And we must ask “Lord, let me see again.”

We must not just expect to see. Like Peter as he walked on the water toward Jesus and the storm raged around Him. His attention-His consciousness of Jesus waned and he started to sink and he cried out to Christ, “Lord save me!”

We have to realize the enemy’s storm all around us and cry out to Christ, “Lord save me, lift me, let me see!”.

We cannot assume that we can handle anything or see in this darkness on our own power. We must be dependent on The Holy Spirit-all the time-especially in the good times. A drowning man will always cry for help. A successful and progressing person-not so much.

Our egos can blind us-self sufficiency can blot our need for God.

Ask God to keep the light on…

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done in my heart. Forgive me my reluctance to see Your truth.

Lead me away from sinking in my ego.

Father of all light,
