Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Colossians 3:13
13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Today’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 34-36 John 19:1-22
The Love Of Many
I watched a dooming video just now. It was a black and white cartoon that showed a small boy trying to get someone’s attention in the midst of thousands on a city street. The other figures were walking aimlessly looking at their cell phone screens. It ended with a great hoard, still occupied with their screens, walking off a cliff into darkness never realizing the danger.
This is an awful sadness that the world has embraced.
It is also an indictment to the followers of Christ. The last statement of our memory verse is, “They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”(Jeremiah 15:19)
The world walks steadily off that cliff into darkness-why? They see hope only in the creations of the world. They see hope of happiness only in what the world provides.
The question for us is why can’t the world see hope in us? Why is the world not coming to us?
Jesus said, “10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
It is time to realize what we really feel and focus-center up on Christ Jesus and live our lives before the world in love and hope in constant and confident, quiet joy.
John 15:11- “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
Please meditate on the life of Christ and how hard His life was knowing all the time He would die a nasty death. He knew real joy and did all He did so His joy would be full in us. When we realize this and live it, ‘they’ will see what they seek in us and come to us.
What does the world see in you-in me?
Let God show you where you are-confess whatever you need to confess and receive the Lord’s joy and live there-live there in God’s hand and be a part of stopping the march off the edge.
...because He loves us…He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name is our salvation and joy immeasurable. Your kingdom come in my heart and Your will be done. I ask for Your joy to be completed in my heart and that the love of Christ shows in me. Deliver me from evil.
Load lifting God of all,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
