Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day- 1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Today’s reading: Genesis 16-17 Matthew 5:27-48
The Impossible
The accuser(our enemy, the devil) plays mind games with us to make us worry or feel guilty. He will use everything in his power to drag us down. When we are up, the attacks come to bring us down. When we are down, well, he does all he can to keep us down. The accuser does all he can to destroy any joy we may experience.
But, the enemy cannot destroy our salvation in Christ. That power was erased on the cross.
There is nothing that will ever separate us from the love of God in Christ.
“You, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Colossians 2:13–15)
The enemy keeps a ‘record of debt’. This is a record of all sin that renders a soul not worthy of the righteousness of God. When we accept Christ, we accept the reality that Christ took the record of our lives-all of it from beginning to end-to the cross. Our record was nailed to the cross with Christ canceling for eternity any debt of sin-the entire record is gone.
The enemy has two jobs. The first is to attempt to keep us from Christ. If he fails at that, the second job is to render our witness for Christ to the world as worthless-but he can never destroy our relationship with God in Christ. He can make us hurt and grieve and the record of the martyrs shows us that he can even take our physical lives. But- he can never separate us from the love of God.
In Romans 8, Paul writes:
33 “Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
The enemy cannot do the impossible-he cannot erase what Christ did on the cross and the eternal power of our Lord and our God. We are His children.
1 John 3:1-2“Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are!”
Tell God you want to live consciously of this reality for His stability in your heart and mind.
...because He loves you, He will do it...
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your high and holy name. Let my heart know Your kingdom for Your glory. Give me today what You want me to have and thank you for it. Lead me away from wickedness.
Father of certain life eternal,
In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,
Amen
