The Desires Of Your Heart

Thursday, February 13, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Verse of the Day: John 3:16

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

The Desires of Your heart

Psalm 37:4-”Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.…”

We have talked before about this verse and about how if we really delight ourselves in the Lord that He will place His desires in our hearts. He will replace our old worldly desires with His righteous desires-we will want what God wants-His will.

We need to revisit this often-maybe each day-to keep ourselves in check.

How so?

Easy...are your deepest desires for God’s will in your life...

...or...are your deepest desires still rooted in the world?

Do you desire to know deeply God’s next move for you or do you still want a house or a car or a better return on your investments.

Do you actively enjoy an ongoing conversation with God or does your ego keep you busy envying the treasure of someone else or that next thing that will give you a thrill or yield relief?

This is a rather quick ‘come to Jesus meeting’ for most of us. It is for me. That is why I say this needs to be done often. Our desires must be, in our consciousness, in full view of the Holy Spirit all the time.

This is what being conscious of God means.

So, are we conscious or are we asleep?

...and Christ will shine on you.

...because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

Your name be lifted up and praised and Your kingdom obedience be my desire. Give me what You know I need today and give me the desire to use it. Forgive me my negativity and lead me away from wanting what I do not need.

My peace and joy are only in You,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
