Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Jeremiah 23:24
24 “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.”
Today’s reading: Job 3-4 Acts 7:44-60
The Affirmation Of My Faith
When I affirm something, I am saying it is true and valid.
Years ago, I knew a person who never ended a prayer in ‘the name of Jesus’. It really bothered me. It did no good for me to try and talk to them about it because they simply could not understand. This should bother all of us who believe in Christ as Lord.
This is my understanding as to ‘why?’.
Jesus died so we could come to our Father in heaven.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus blood removes our sin barrier between us and God. Matthew 26:28 “...for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
The wrath of God has been removed in Christ. John 3:36 says:
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
All obstacles that sever communication between us and God have been removed by the blood of Christ Jesus.
Jesus told us, taught us to pray in His name, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”(John 14:13)
So, when I pray in Jesus’ name, it is not a tradition-it is an affirmation of my faith in Christ. I am saying that I know when I pray in the name of Jesus, because of what Jesus has done and is doing, that my prayers are being heard by my Father in Heaven and will be answered-this is the promise of Christ Jesus.
This is why I always pray in the name of Jesus. Jesus said to.
If you have a problem with this, tell God about it. He will give you sight and let you hear His word.
...because He loves us...He will do it...
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come in my heart and a desire to do Your will. Give me this day Your wisdom to understand. Forgive me for not taking Your word seriously. Lead me away from wicked laziness.
Great God of all power,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
