Temptation

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:    "Woe to the rebellious children," says the Lord, "who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin." —Isaiah 30:1

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading:  LEVITICUS 23-24 MARK 1:1-22

Temptation

Think about this. The spirit led Jesus into a place so the enemy could tempt Him-God did not tempt Him-the evil one tempted Him.

Hebrews 2:18-Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.

Some will say, "Why does God let this temptation happen?" The answer should be, "You had God right there with you, why did you fall?"

James 1:13 says, "When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed."

Real grown men and women all know we have no excuse for sin. We have the laws of God written on our hearts by the presence of the Holy Spirit. This does not stop us from attempting to blame someone else.

So, when we pray, we might structure our personal prayer to be something like this: "Lord, lead me away from temptation-but when I find myself faced with it-teach me to use Your strength to turn and walk away from the enemy in thanksgiving for Your deliverance.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for looking at temptation-help me to be blind to it-turn my spirit against it.

God of all my strength!

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
