Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the 

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and 

just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all 

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day: John 3:20-21  “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

Go Get It

Deep down inside, what is it that we all long for? When all falsehoods and pretensions are removed-when we are alone, what do we want, really?

The human heart wants love and joy and peace. We are so occupied on this earth by what the enemy says will bring us these things, we forget what they are-

We hear that war will bring us peace. War continues and peace hides somewhere beyond.

The world says we must conquer our fears to be who we need to be.

The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

When do we allow God to define what we want instead of the world?

Matthew 6:6 (ESV)

6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

I think that this is a challenge by Jesus to us-He dares us to seek God’s reward. If being rewarded-or being satisfied by reward-is wrong, why would Jesus say it? Jesus wants us to seek this reward.

So what is it? What is this reward? God’s reward for seeking Him, as Jesus taught in Matthew 6:6 is found in, I believe in Galatians 5:22,23-the fruit of the Spirit. The more we welcome the Holy Spirit, the more evidence the fruit becomes part of us.

Love, joy, peace-the first three fruit mentioned-these are what the human heart wants.

The point of food is nourishment. The point of the competition in the food industry is who can make it taste the best going down-who can create the most satisfying experience(so their profits are highest).

The travel industry says we travel to experience the world to ‘broaden our minds’.

The Bible says the whole earth is full of God’s glory. Our travel should be to broaden our view of God’s glory in the beauty of His creation and share it with those we love.

What is the reason behind what we say we want in this life?

Love, joy, and peace.

Matthew 6 says your ‘Father who is in secret...sees in secret...rewards you. I hear it implying God will reward you in secret’ because you are the only one who can feel and know the love, joy and peace that God gives directly to you. It is for you alone.

So what you really want in this life is waiting with God-so go get it. He really wants to reward you. Tell God you want it all.

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all. I want to know the reward of love and joy and peace You have for me. Forgive me chasing after what the world says I need. Lead me away from this evil.

Father of all comfort,

In the name of Christ Jesus,
