Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, Satisfy me with Your steadfast love that I may rejoice all this day. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: Isaiah 43:11-12

11 “I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.12 I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God.”

Today’s reading: Isaiah 30-31 Philippians 4

Sins Against You

One of the things Jesus commanded us to do was seek reconciliation with a fellow believer.

Matthew 18:15-17

15 “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him what he did wrong. Do this in private. If he listens to you, then you have helped him to be your brother again. 16 But if he refuses to listen, then go to him again and take one or two other people with you. ‘Every case may be proved by two or three witnesses.’[Deuteronomy 19:15 ] 17 If he refuses to listen to them, then tell it to the church. If he refuses to listen to the church, then treat him as you would one who does not believe in God. Treat him as if he were a tax collector.

Many problems in our modern church come from people not being honest-honest with feelings.

We are afraid to say, “You hurt me, that was wrong”. The next problem is that folks don’t want to admit they are wrong which tells us this is not a new problem or Jesus would not have given a command for it.

How important is it to talk about things-to reconcile? It was on the heart of our Lord-He knew pain all around Him because people were just too hard-headed and afraid of confrontation to deal with it. This was a big deal. He traveled with testosterone riddled young men who all had a different idea of ‘serving their Lord’-you think they didn’t have quarrels and hurt feelings daily? Time was short-life was short-these men had 10-15 years max to make their mark in the kingdom.

Jesus said go to them and tell them-fix it if you can. If you can’t, then pull the church in on it-but deal with the problem.

Jesus even said that if we come to worship and realize someone has something against you, get up and go make it right(Matthew 5:23-24 )

Jesus commands us to talk over our problems-to confront, confess-and reconcile.

How are you about confronting someone with their sin against you. How hard is it for you to confess a wrong done to someone? Reconciliation is hard but it is a command of Jesus.

Tell Him You need help.

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

You name be lifted up. Your kingdom knowledge bring to me. The desire to obey your will is my heart cry. Give me today what You know I need. Forgive me for my fear of righteous confrontation. Deliver me from evil.

Yours is the kingdom, and power, and glory forever,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
