Shame Is A Shame

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Joshua 1:9

9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Verse of the day- Hebrews 11:6

6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 12-13 Luke 22:1-30

Away With Shame

Romans 3:23-For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

I get it. It is hard not to judge with all the crazy behavior we see in this world, so, before we judge and cast stones, we must see how much we have deviated from the perfect holiness of God. Yes, sin is deviation from God's law-that means we are all deviants. (Don’t turn this off yet….)

This is not to depress anyone-please know-this is to point to the tender mercies of God in Christ Jesus. We have all sinned and deserve the full wrath of God, which is the same horrendous wrath of the ages, but have been saved or rescued by the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. Without Christ, salvation from destruction is impossible.

Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."

It is a good thing that we do not all have to put a sign in front of our house that says what our hidden sin is. But, then, every house would have signs….

Shame is weight that we carry-unless the weight has been lifted by God through salvation in Christ which is exactly what happens.

> 1 John 1:9-Our sins are forgiven

>2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

>Hebrews 8:12 ►For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

So, if you still feel guilt-and many, many do, it might be because:

> we have not forgiven ourselves. We are created in God's image. He has chosen to not remember our sins ever. He wants us to learn how to do the same.

>if God will not remember, and we have forgiven ourselves, we have fallen prey to the enemy bringing up our past to make us feel condemned.

............................................but................................................

Romans 8:1 ►Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

One more big reason we carry guilt- our worship is weak. How can I make that statement? I know I am not the only one, that's how. All of us fall short of pure worship. If what we think we do on Sunday at church is complete worship, think again.

Romans 12:1&2 1Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.…

Suffering from shame?  That life is over-if it is not-God still forgives-take care of it before God.

That sin life over- Living sacrifice? Live for Jesus as God's holy servant. Only God can tell you what that is in your life but He will show you if you ask and live before Him.

So ask. Renew your mind. Again-ask God-He will always renew the mind of obedience.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. - Psalm 56:3

Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? - Matthew 6:27

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. - Proverbs 12:25

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come in my heart. Forgive me for not forgiving myself and lead me toward Your complete freedom in renewing my mind. Lead me from evil.

Awesome and all powerful God!

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
