Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Verse of the day: Proverbs 31:27-28

27 She looks well to the ways of her household    and does not eat the bread of idleness.28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;    her husband also, and he praises her:

Secret Sins

In our daily reading, 2 Kings 17:9 says, “ They secretly sinned against the Lord their God.”

We all must recognize that we cannot ‘secretly sin’ against God. The Israelites lied to themselves in thinking they could keep secrets from God. They may have tried to hide what they were doing from God; they might have thought they could privately worship other Gods.

But God sees all that is done in the human heart-in every human’s heart.

A common lie from the enemy is that if we ignore God or pretend He does not exist, it does not matter what people do. In the mind of a believer, this translates to believing they can ignore their ‘little sins’ and not deal with them before God. These little secrets make ‘lukewarm’ believers who have forgotten in whom they believe.

Revelation 3:16, “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

God had the Israelites conquered over and over because of their sins. He warned them over and over-time and again but they would not listen.

Why do we seek pleasure and fulfillment in other ‘gods’? It is because we have not taken God at His word.

Psalm 16:11, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

Have you been in ‘His presence’-at His ‘right hand’? Some would say, “That means when this life is over…”. It might have in the Old Testament-but-Jesus said , “The kingdom is within you”(Luke 17:21) and God’s Spirit is within you.

2 Timothy 1:14, “Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.”‘The’ treasure-God has trusted us with this treasure-His treasure-His presence.

There are no ‘secret sins’ before God. Face it. Confess whatever it is and get to His treasure-His presence in your life.

Seek Him, ask for what you have not discovered.

...because He loves us...He will do it...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is treasure and I pray I treasure it. I pray we all learn how to treasure Your presence in Your kingdom. Give me desire to dig deeper today in Your truths. Forgive me for lying to myself and You trying to hide my sin. Lead me away from this lie of the enemy.

Father of all truth and light,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
