Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day-Mark 9:35

35 And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

Today’s reading: Exodus 21-22 Matthew 19

The River Of Life

How real is your happiness? Does it come and go? Is happiness allusive? What, then, do you base your happiness on Think hard on this. What really makes you happy?

The river of Life never stops. Because God is infinite, the flow of His river is perpetual. The flow of God's life-God's own life-flows through us when we are walking in Christ Jesus.

John 7:37-38

“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: "Streams of living water will flow from within him.”

Step back and stop and think about this...

Now repeat this: "Streams of living water flow from within me-Streams of living water flow from within me-"

There is a story about a native American man who was known for the Power of God in his prayers. He had quite a reputation as one who prayed and things happened. Then, there was a church that was struggling and the elders were trying anything to make things better. They had heard of this 'prayer warrior' and invited the man to come and pray for them. They purchased a train ticket for the man and brought him to their little church. The elders knelt with the man in silence-never said a word for the longest time. Then, from way down deep came this low moan from the man. The visitor then got up and went back to the train station and went home. One of the elders was heard to say, "Well, is that all we get for the price of train fare?" But things started to change, little by little at the church.

Some of the elders got it. Sometimes, we waste our words. You see, the visitor had come to realize that if we are quiet before God, God will reveal Himself to us in ways unimaginable. He had not tried to impress anyone with great flowery words to God. He had no thought of anyone but God and before God, it is best , at times of great need, to bring a humble heart to God and listen-God knows our hearts.

He had grown to know the sound of the rivers of living water that flow from the throne of God through us.

The problem with some of us is that we say too much-do too much. We can't seem to grasp the gravity of it all. God is flowing through us. This fact alone should absolutely astound us but our wills get in the way. Our noise gets in the way. Jesus said, "Not as the world gives...". His peace is a river from God's heart through us-amazing and glorious-and peaceful beyond any earthly explanation.

The way God lives and does things is really available for us to know little by little. One of the fruits of the Spirit is patience-just after love, joy, and peace. Rejoice over each step. Because, good times or bad, the river of life never stops flowing-never ceases being available to us. God's love endures forever and you, we, are covered with this endless love in each step of our way.

Be quiet...hear His river...

...because He loves us,

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my heart and mind. Give me what You know I have to have for today. Forgive me for desiring things of the world.

Father of peace,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
