Resonating

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Memory of the Month: Proverbs 15:1-A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Today's reading: ISAIAH 17-19 EPHESIANS 5:17-33

Tremendously Resonating

Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:18-"...be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, ..."

We are not All lyricists or musicians or poets. We can, however, go to the Psalms and see how they wrote about these things.

Psalm 5:11-But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.

There are a number of translations that use the word 'exult'. What does it mean to exult in the Lord? Exult actually means to 'be thrilled' or 'jump for joy'(tremendously resonating).

How do we get to the point where our love for God tremendously resonates in us? Focusing on our world with all its troubles will never work. Focusing on all the good things in the world won't do it either. Gathering all the riches and greatness and fame of the world fails to deliver.

Psalm 5:12 For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.

We do not gather the riches of God. He delivers His riches to them to the ones who love Him.

"For those who love Him will exult in Him." Those who love Him will be thrilled-will jump for joy-in Him. I know-we are a long way from jumping for joy about anything until, say, we watch sports?

In God alone is our real joy. Yes, there are loads of earthly thrills that are temporal. There is nothing temporal about our God -only our focus.

It does not matter how we 'feel' but how we focus.

As you read the Psalms and make note of the lines that address Him and His greatness, write them down or copy and paste and print. Put these where you can see them and 'think-on' these lines as often as possible. Practice focusing on Him alone. Practice, practice, practice...

May His love tremendously resonate in our hearts...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

My love for You is not what You want it to be. Make it so, oh Lord, that I may exult in You. I choose to focus on Your majesty and Your matchless heart for me.

God of endless greatness!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
