Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day: Psalm 103:1-2...Of David.
103 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,”
Today’s reading: Zechariah 1--4 Revelation 18
Resolutions
Resolutions usually fail because the one who makes the ‘vow’ is not resolute-not dead set on accomplishment.
I think we need some real resolutions to have more of the joy of God in our lives or actually to realize how much joy Christ has made available to us.
John 15:10-12- “10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11 I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.… “
So, get rid of the word ‘resolution’ and get to its root-resolve. Here is Biblical resolve: Isaiah 50:7-
“But the Lord God helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.”
I have not been disgraced…
I have set my face like flint…
I shall not be put to shame…
There is no uncertainty here. This is a heart that knows God’s provision and power personally.
Here is a prayer that I challenge you to tailor in your own words:
Father in Heaven, Lord of Heaven’s armies,
Give me the resolve to love as You loved. I want my life to be lived in obedience to Your commands written on my heart. I want to know Your joy-the joy that sustains through all obstacles. I commit myself-I will not give up with Your strength. You are all I need.
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
...because He loves you, He will do it...
