Really?

Saturday, ‎January ‎15, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: John 8:31-32

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Memory of the Month: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Today's reading: GENESIS 36-38 MATTHEW 10:21-42

Worry....Really?

A man once said to a friend, "Meat is just not good for my body; I'm not saying it is bad for you-it is bad for me-I'm a vegetarian". It was not for medical reasons. This was a lifestyle choice. There are those who eat meat who think vegetarians are crazy and vice-versa. So, how do you feel about being judged by someone who does not believe as you believe about certain things?

If you think it is a waste of time and energy to even argue this, that is your right. But if you live your life worrying about what others think of you, the Bible suggests there is work to do.

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Yes, it is easier to read and agree than to actually live with this reality governing your thinking-but-this comparison shows how futile are our worries.

God will show us what choices to make as we follow Him. Choices made based on anything but the wisdom of the Holy Spirit are all futile.

The enemy would like to see divisions everywhere based on the fake wisdom of the world. That is what he is here for-for the whole world to be deceived.

The enemy is also here to see us worry-to waste time over things we cannot control.

Remember, the only thing we ever really control is what we think-our own mind. This is what must be surrendered to God.

Some will worry about this...God does not want this based on scripture. God wants us to be at peace. Time spent-much time-with God will serve you eternally but it will put your heart and mind at peace now. It is a choice that will forever change your life. Make the choice to tell God that whatever it takes, you want to live in Him.

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.…

...because He loves us..

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for letting my mind wander around in the world.

Give me the wisdom and desire to get my mind out of the world and into Your heart-all the time...whatever it takes.

Wise and merciful creator!!

In Jesus' name,

Amen
