Real Answers

"How are you?"

"God is good everyday".

"How y'all doin'?"

"We're blessed."

How are you really? I asked that of a friend at work one day and he wheeled around at me and said if I asked him that again, he would hit me. He didn't want to think about how he was doing, much less talk about it.

After years of being encouraged to 'talk' about our problems, we have learned the 'Sunday school' responses to almost every question. It shields our private pain, our secrets.

The Lord teaches us to listen but also how to open up and tell the truth. He teaches this in His presence where 'Sunday school' answers do not exist-only truth. When in God's presence, He knows all and we know He knows all and this is a deterrent to the prayers of many.

It is just too painful to admit how we are really doing-or is it? It is just too painful to confess our sins-or is it? It is just too painful to fall apart in front of God-really?

Too painful...

too busy...

too bothered...

Too covered up with sin is more like it. It is time-and you have just as much time as anyone else-to admit you have been wrong.

You have the time to be free of sin-free of all the excuses-

You have the time to be freed up to fly. Think about this seriously. God is our freedom.

It is for freedom we have been made free. Galatians 5:1

You have wings waiting...Isaiah 40:31

These scriptures are not 'sunday school' answers-they are God's absolute truth.

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my heart with great desire. Give me today what You want me to have. I am wrong for hiding my junk, my sin, forgive me. Let me, again, feel Your wind beneath me; raise me up to see Your glory. Deliver me from evil.
