Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:    Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD ; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

 Memory verse: Philippians 4:8 ►Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Prepare Well

Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD ; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

We should all hear it. That voice that John the Baptizer heard when he preached, Matthew 3:2 ►

 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The kingdom is at hand-not just our 'Christmas' season. The wilderness, desert, is where we live and we all know it. As good as human ingenuity can make our world appear, it continues to grow sin as the wild grows weeds and thistles unattended.

God will one day make all sin and deprivation vanish. But for now, we should always hear the voice crying to make straight the way for our Lord-to tell the real story-to tell the truth.

It is a call for us all to understand that God does not need us to prepare a way for Him. He goes where He will. It is a call for us to prepare our hearts for the work God had planned for us to do in the wilderness in which we live.

Remind the world of the true gift that the birth of Christ brought and continues to deliver. Yes, go ahead and hang lights and deck the halls but walk as Jesus walked in true unselfishness and love that keeps no record of wrongs.

Love the way through the desert wilderness and deliver the living Word of God...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I confess, my heart is so cluttered with all the desert sand-the stuff-I will prepare the way as I follow You.

Merciful Father,
