Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Readings: EZEKIEL 27-29 1 PETER 3

Precious Faith

This is for all of you who share faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. This faith was given to us because our God and Savior Jesus Christ always does what is good and right.(2 Peter 1)

He writes this part of the letter so believers of all times will know to continually seek to be right with God.

Peter writes 2 Peter 1: 3 Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus chose us by his glory and goodness, 4 through which he also gave us the very great and rich gifts that he promised us. With these gifts you can share in being like God. And so you will escape the ruin that comes to people in the world because of the evil things they want.

This is all so amazing; God's very own divine power has given us everything we need-great and precious promises that we may take part in the divine nature-God's divine nature-escaping the world's corruption.

I don't know about you but if I was a judge-judging me-I would be found guilty. But in Christ, because of what Christ has done for us, I am, we all are found not guilty in Him. But---we must check up--we must check our hearts and lives by His word-daily-by the Holy Spirit-all the time.

Peter continues:5 Because you have these blessings, do all you can to add to your life these things: to your faith add goodness; to your goodness add knowledge; 6 to your knowledge add self-control; to your self-control add patience; to your patience add devotion to God; 7 to your devotion add kindness toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, and to this kindness add love. 8 If all these things are in you and growing, you will never fail to be useful to God. You will produce the kind of fruit that should come from your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who don’t grow in these blessings are blind. They cannot see clearly what they have. They have forgotten that they were cleansed from their past sins.

10 My brothers and sisters, God called you and chose you to be his. Do your best to live in a way that shows you really are God’s called and chosen people. If you do all this, you will never fall.

But we all stumble...1 John 1:8-10 If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean break of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. If we claim that we’ve never sinned, we out-and-out contradict God—make a liar out of him. A claim like that only shows our ignorance of God.

Be truthful with yourself and with Him.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

My life is before You. Search my heart before me. Forgive my weakness and fill me with Your power!

You are so great and mighty!

In Jesus' name,

Amen
