Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day:Colossians 1:9
9 “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding...”
Today’s reading: Jeremiah 51-52 Hebrews 9
Assurance #8-Always Pray for Increasing Belief
Some folks have a really strong faith. Some don’t. Some of us are in the middle somewhere where we have to really seek God and stay close. Some haven’t learned the lessons of discipline and really struggle to ‘keep the faith’.
Wherever you are, this message is “always pray for deeper belief”.
For those of low faith and those riddled with doubt, here is a verse for you when you get really low:
“. . . if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.”
You belong to God in Christ Jesus even when you cannot ‘feel it’.
Wherever you are in your walk with Christ, we must ‘pray on’ our faith-just as we ‘pray on’ the armor of God.
There are many promises that you can pray ‘on’ like this:
2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”
Pray something like: “Faithful God, establish me and guard me against the evil one”.
There is such great strength to be found in praying scripture back to God.
Hebrews 10:23”Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
Pray: “Father, hold me fast to the confession of my hope without doubting, for You, Oh God, are faithful.”
After praying, you can hold tightly to scripture. Keep a list. Run a search. The point is to keep scripture in ‘view’-in your mind’s eye. God is breathing it for your need-it is alive.
His promises are alive like these:
Romans 8:35-37-35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Pray for God to increase your ability to believe without fail.
...because He loves you. He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Your name means You cannot fail. Your kingdom understanding is strength. Give me today more strength in believing in You. Forgive me for not blocking out the doubts. Deliver me from evil.
God of promises kept,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
