Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

Passion For God

Ephesians 3:19

19 “...and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Paul prayed this prayer for the believers then and I believe this is why God had it recorded in Holy Scripture. God wants us to hear His inspired word for us-that we learn the love of Christ that goes above, or transcends, earthly understanding which points us to this:

Ephesians 5:18 (ESV)

18 “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit…”

This is so we can be obedient and be filled with the fullness of God-which is of a deep meaning that can only be understood, I believe, on a personal basis. Having said that, my own heart soars when praying with folks who are the most passionate.

A lot of folks are afraid of passion for God because of what they have seen or heard of. Get this out of your mind. It is not the outward show of passion that we are after. Real passion for God is from the Holy Spirit to generate praise for God from our innermost self. Only you can know what that will mean to you-it comes from God-never from what you may hear or see others do. Privately, we discover His joy, together we share it.

We must always know that our praise is about our ‘knowing the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, and our being filled with all the fullness of God.’

I pray that God fills me with His fullness for His praise. What will you pray for?

Father in Heaven,

Teach me as much I can know of Your love so I will be filled with Your fullness to know your greatness and praise You. Forgive me my sin of fearing what I might look or sound like. Lead me away from a fear of passion for You.
