Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Psalm 25:14-15

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Memory of the Month:Proverbs 15:1-A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Today's reading:  ISAIAH 50-52 1 THESSALONIANS 5

Out Of The Net

The disease of the ages is opposition to God. Paul wrote:

1 Thessalonians 5:

4 My brothers and sisters, it will be different for you. You do not dwell in the darkness, so that day will not surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light. You are sons and daughters of the day. We are not created of night, nor are we owned by darkness. 6 So then let’s not give in to sleep or wander around in a stupor as some do, but let’s stay awake and in control. 7 You see, sleepers sleep through the night, and drunkards drink the night away; 8 but since we belong to the day, we should stay sober and in control, covered with a breastplate of faith and love and a helmet of the hope of salvation.

We belong to the day. We, who have been born of the Spirit of God in Christ Jesus, belong to the day. Christ Jesus is our light. Any path that is not lighted by Him is not a path for us. This goes without saying but the world sees it all differently.

The people of the world are all born into sin and in that sin they sleep-until such time they have been awakened to God-consciousness by the Spirit of God working through common believers-those of the Lord's day.

The enemy uses all at his disposal to keep this from happening. We must know the tools of the enemy and readily recognize the next trick coming. The problem with the world is one of disorderly drunkeness as we read in 1 Thessalonians 5. The world stays drunk on the enemy's  illusion of peace in power and all the lies that comes with it.

Sustained sin grows callous to God's righteousness so much that sin becomes accepted social behavior until it becomes, in some cases, the law of the land. Our abortion laws, as appaling to us as they are and an abomination to God, are to the 'sleepers' and the 'drunkards' amoral-or not against morals. It is accepted moral behavior because what brings need for abortion is also now amoral behavior. The callous is so thick that nothing can get through it but the light of God's Day through prayer and unconditional love from us by His power.

Psalm 25:15 (says that) "He will pluck my feet out of the net".

I hope this is not read and accepted as a simple 'automatic'. Psalm 25:14&15 says just before this statement that this will happen when we fear Him and keep our eyes on Him. This should tell us that there is a prerequisite to our being plucked from the net.

WE must remain faithful! Constant bombardment from the enemy means constant seeking for renewal if we want to be kept from the enemy's net. We all sin because of this constant onslaught which means we must constantly renew our focus on God's righteous heart for us. This, in sincere faith, brings His refreshing for us.

Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

WE must stay awake-no matter the cost. The loose morals of our enemy are being used to rob us of our freedoms in this world but we cannot lose sight of the fact that the freedoms of this world are just that-of this world. The only real freedom that exists exists in the heart of God for us. We must engage in endless prayer for the battles in the land's high court, yes, but we must never lose sight of the battle in our separate lives and the need to constantly seek the power of our loving God in Christ who does sustain us when we seek Him and who will protect us from the enemy's nets when we remain awake and sober.

Seek God and His righteousness constantly. There is no substitute or even a break. The war rages on and, like it or not, we are in it. Be vigilant.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Be awake, refreshed, sober in Christ, loving Him with all you are. This is a moment to moment life of decisions that can only be lived out by you.

Be, this day, the person who says,

"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I confess I try to ignore the battle for Your righteousness in my life. Father, I choose to stay awake and be sober. You are my constant reminder. Forgive me when I step into sin-have mercy on me.

My God-commander of Heavenly armies and lover of my soul,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
