Verse of the day: “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2)

Our Star

People say to me, “People need to know what the Bible says in Revelation-they really need to know”.

I agree. Folks need to know. We all need to know what God says about the end times along with all the other important prophecies of scripture.

But we need to know why God says it all. God has spoken His word and still speaks in His word what we need to know today-on this day of our lives.

People get so fixated on just one thing in the Holy Scriptures that they are consumed by a certain prophecy or happening or the names of the Angels, etc. At one point in History, a group of theologians argued how many Angels could dance on the head of a pin-really?.

Don’t get me wrong. I am a hard core Bible believer. But the message behind it all is Jesus. Do we know what Jesus is saying right now? Are we listening about what He wants us to do next?

The star of Bethlehem is an amazing reality. It is the work of God and should be celebrated but what did it do? It pointed to Jesus. It led pagans ‘Magi’ from the east to where He was in Bethlehem.

“Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2)

They came to worship the Christ, the new-born King. They came to worship. The star should always point us to worship Christ Jesus.

The most important thing to me is that I know in my heart that I -all of us-have been given the job of the star. We are to point people to Jesus.

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

If Christ is real to us, God will use us-His light in us- to bring people to the place of their birth-their spiritual birth in Christ.

So, the Christmas season is about the birth of our eternal King and how he gave up His glory in Heaven to come to us and how He offers the lost in the world His new birth to each who will believe-and-how He has given us each His light to shine and share before the hurting and lost world.

People really need to know-really need to know all the Bible says about Jesus.

Tell God you want to know all you can about Jesus so you can shine your light for His glory.

...because He loves you, He will do it,

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come in my heart with great desire to obey and live for You. Give me Your sustenance for my work in Your kingdom today. Forgive me for not keeping Christ my focus. Lead me away from evil.
