Our Relevance

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Psalm 91:1 New King James Version
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Memory verse: Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Today's reading: ESTHER 3-5 ACTS 5:22-42
Are We Relevant?
With all the chaos in the streets of America, are we, the Christian community, relevant? Is our witness for Christ making a difference?
The Barna Group, a Christian research group, compiles numbers on Christian activity and influence in the world. They speak of the United Kingdom, Britain, as 'post-christian culture'. They use this term because their culture is not considered 'Christian' now. Just that is staggering to some and it should be. America is headed in the same direction.
But the christian community in Britain is still working and going and telling and sharing God's love with the masses.
The influx of foreign influences has over-run the country but the cause of Christ is still alive.
The question for us needs to take a step back-not 'are we relevant' but is Christ really relevant in our lives?
"Of course, Christ is relevant", you say.
All I ask is that you think on it-really think on it. If Christ is that relevant, does it show in all we do? Is our demeanor in public one of kindness, love, and joy-peaceful? Are we who can no longer go and do giving to make it possible for others to go and do? Are those of us who are able-still going and doing the Lord's work?
Loving prayer makes us relevant. Our country may be over-run by foreign influences but we do not have to bend to any of it the way King Solomon did. Giving God your day-taking up our cross daily-looking past the sin to the soul-all of this makes us relevant.
Unconditional love from God's heart is never irrelevant. It is always felt. God's perfect love gets through all barriers even when they try to wash it out with hate-
But there is not enough water in the ocean to wash God's love away.
No matter what we read or hear or what the numbers tell us, God's love through our lives is always meaningful to someone who needs to know that they are loved.
Love and pray and do whatever you can...God will handle everything else....and perfectly.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me my worry, Lord, help me to learn to not worry about what I cannot control but let my heart be controlled by You and Your love.
Great God of love and mercy!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
