Our Joy-His Glory

Friday, September 20, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Joel 2:23

23 “Be glad, O children of Zion,

and rejoice in the Lord your God,

for he has given the early rain for your vindication;

he has poured down for you abundant rain,

the early and the latter rain, as before.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Ecclesiastes 7-9 2 Corinthians 13

Our Joy-His Glory

Isaiah 55:12 "Yes, you will go out with joy,

you will be led forth in peace.

As you come, the mountains and hills

will burst out into song,

and all the trees in the countryside

will clap their hands.

13 Cypresses will grow in place of thorns,

myrtles will grow instead of briars.

This will bring fame to Adonai

as an eternal, imperishable sign.

>The last part of verse 13 says ,"...this will bring fame to Adonai(God)

as an eternal sign." The word 'fame' here is a combination of two words. One has a meaning of mark or miracle. The other is glory. So, we hear this saying,

"This will bring a  'mark of miraculous glory' to God-an eternal imperishable sign."

Now the question is, "What brings this miraculous glory?" It tells us back in verse 12,

"you will go out with joy,

you will be led forth in peace."

It then says that creation, mountains, hills, vegetation, will burst forth with songs, applause, and beauty-this all because of the Lord's joy in us.

All of this brings 'miraculous glory'-imperishable miraculous glory-to God.

So, we must earnestly pray more and more,"God, satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, so we may rejoice all our days."

Our joy glorifies God. The more we rejoice, the more we glorify God.

Again, Isaiah 43:7  "...everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

Jesus told us in John 15:11, "I have told you...that my joy be in you and your joy may be complete."

God's kingdom, His salvation for us in Christ, His entire plan-is for our joy to be fully realized in Him for His glory.

The worries of this world(yes, of the enemy) is about keeping us from this reality.

Put on the full armor of God and fight for the glory of God-the fight for joy in Him.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Thank You for Your Joy in Your name. Help me realize this kingdom joy, fully, in this day. Forgive me for not seeking You. Lead me away from the pain of the world into Your presence.

Joyful and grand Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
