Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Verse of the day: Proverbs 31:10
10 “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.”
Daily Reading: 2 Kings 15-16 John 3:1-18
Our Daily Reading
Just above our title is the ‘Bible in a year’ readings for the day and I pray that you are reading God’s Holy Scripture each day. If you have or will today, you saw one of the most remembered verses in all of Christianity.
I am recording the International Children’s Bible this year and this how John 3:16 reads:
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.”
It says the same things, in some different words, that all good translations say. Now listen to verse 17 of John 3:
“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. “
Jesus did not come to judge us guilty. When we see Christ as He is-righteous, divine, and Holy and when we feel the Holy Spirit calling us, our sin is very apparent to us. Our darkness must be confessed-but not because Jesus has judged us guilty-but because the power of God has shined His light on our guilt.
God gave His only son to wash us off-clean us up completely-set us free from guilt-all this yes-but this all is so we can be reunited forever with the ‘Lover of our souls’.
We must be diligent about reading God’s word everyday. God reminds us of His truth every time we read any of His word. If we don’t read, we are not reminded.
We must be restored all the time-everyday-all day long of God’s love and grace in our lives…
...lest we get dull and forget.
Go to God and live in His restoration.
...because He loves us...He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. I want Your kingdom knowledge. I want to do Your will. I need Your wisdom and control for today. Forgive me for omitting the reading of Your word. Lead me away from trusting my own understanding.
Divine Teacher,
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
