Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, load me with desire to seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your insight to righteousness. Hold my attention constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day-Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”—

Today’s reading: Job 30-31 Acts 13:26-52

One Or The Other-Part 2

This is not a debate. This is about the struggle we have in seeking God and having time, or making time, to spend enough time reading God’s word and then really studying God’s word and then having time to pray and meditate, etc.

God has given us all the time we need. He has given us His word and instructions on prayer and He has given us a command to seek Him(Matthew 6:33).

One part of our lives in seeking God must be the ‘digging’ where we really put in the effort and finding whatever treasure God has for us. This takes time and we must allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into this work based on the gifts he has given us. The way I study may not suit you. So ask God and be honest with your requests. If you lack desire, ask God for it. He will supply. If you dislike keeping a schedule, tell God, He will change your heart for what He knows you need.

The other part of our lives with God is the tender part-the precious ‘being still’ before God. God has made it possible for us to sit and talk with Him as the center of love in our lives. God is so perfect that we can just sit with Him and not speak as we experience His glory and peace-God’s eternal relief and release. This is where we actually ‘feel’ weightless as God lifts our worries and troubles.

Some may not know this place the way I describe it but it is imperative that you ‘can’ describe it for yourself the way God reveals it to you. So, find the time and stop and be still before God and wait-and listen with your heart and your head. God does not waste time. He will fill your life with his glory if you give Him a chance. Stop either trying so hard or making excuses.

Hear God say to you in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

You name be exalted among the nations. Your kingdom come in my heart. Give me desire for your presence today and a desire to seek You. Forgive me for my excuses. Lead me away from wickedness.

Patient Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
