Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day-Ephesians 4:2
2 “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,”
Today’s reading: Exodus 23-24 Matthew 20:1-16
Offer Your Heart
In Exodus 23, in instructing Moses, God gets to the Feast of Shelters and at the end of the verse says this:
“...no one may come into my presence without an offering.”(Exodus23:15)
I talk about finding a special place with God-the place God has prepared just for you and Him. This is the place of intimacy and joy:
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11
No, God does not need anything from us at all. But God wants us to bring Him our ‘offerings’.
What can we bring God as an offering every time we go to Him in worship and prayer?
Jesus said “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
Everyday, when we go to pray, this is the time to go into God’s presence in humility-this is where we ‘die to self’ again in God’s presence. This is the most precious of times and only you can find for yourself how precious it is.
Bring your heart. That’s all God wants-all of it. No facades-no pretense-just us in the complete love and peace that is our God in Christ Jesus.
An old children’s song goes, “Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before…”
If it is not already, this can be your life. If it is your experience, it only gets deeper.
Life is way to short...find your life in Him.
Tell Him how you feel.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed and treasured be Your glorious name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in my mind. Give me what You want for me today. Forgive me my reluctance to face You. Lead me away from evil.
Father of Grace and mercy,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
