Not Just Any Man

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:14,16

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading: Psalm 63-65 Romans 6

Not Just Any Man

Christ was a sacrifice for our sins. But think on this: If Christ had not been raised from the dead, it would have been the death of an ordinary man-just another man killed by a Roman cross.

Christ was raised from the dead so that all ordinary men and women could have hope-and scriptural hope is not ordinary hope-the hope of the scripture is the absolute promise of God. The promise of God cannot be broken-otherwise, He would not be God.

Our hope is based on an absolute-so our hope is just that-absolute-a Holy Spirit guarantee.

Romans 5:5 "and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

Paul writes in Romans 4:25-"He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God."

To make us right?

If we are, then, made right in Him, why do we still have failures? The human part of us-the 'just another guy' part of us. We, the imperfect, are saved by the perfect. We walk everyday with a free will, not a perfect will as God's-but a perfectly free will. So, as human beings, we will sin and repent-win and lose. If we follow Jesus day by day, we will learn and grow and continue to seek His kingdom while learning to put sin behind us.

Jesus was not just another guy-but we are-all the ordinary people thatvJesus gave His perfect life for...Romans 5:18

18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not trying to grasp this fully and help me make this a part of my understanding. Thank you for Your complete love.

Merciful God of all restoration!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
