Negatives And Positives

Wednesday, March 26, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ and endless power. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

Verse of the Day: Philippians 1:29

29 For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

Daily Reading:  Joshua 22-24 Luke 3

Negatives and Positives

Paul teaches us to get rid of the negative feelings in our in our lives in Galatians 5:20–21:

“...hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy…”

On the positive side, the scripture tells us to have good ‘feelings’ that honor God:

joy (Philippians 4:4),

hope (Psalm 42:5),

fear (Luke 12:5),

peace (Colossians 3:15),

zeal (Romans 12:11),

grief (Romans 12:15),

desire (1 Peter 2:2),

tenderheartedness (Ephesians 4:32),

and brokenness and contrition (James 4:9).

These are commands-ways that our lives reflect God’s presence and support and show His glory in us. This is more of living a life of worship.

The big question for many is ‘how’?

The man in Matthew 13:44 found a treasure in a field. He was so happy-a feeling of great affection.

We must uncover our affections as we discover how precious Christ Jesus is. We must dig into this reality so that we deeply treasure Christ for who He is in and to us-along with what He has and is doing ‘for’ us.

In us Christ is our peace and hope and sustaining power in troubles. He will fill our affections with Him when we humble ourselves and tell Him we want all He has for us.

“Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love so we may rejoice all our days”.(Psalm 90:14)

This verse speaks of feelings-satisfaction, love, rejoicing.

Make this verse a habit in prayer. It is a good thing to want to be satisfied in Christ-it is a good thing to feel good in Christ. But not just for us-for the glory of our God.

The more joy we feel because of Him, the more God is glorified.

...because He love us,

Father in Heaven

Your name is complete and is full of joy and power. Your kingdom is perfect peace. Satisfy me today so I may live in Your praise.

Forgive me for not seeking Your great joy in You. Lead me away from sinful and negative feelings.

Great satisfier of my soul,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
