Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verse of the day- Romans 6:23
23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Today’s reading: Joshua 16-18 Luke 2:1-24
Mind Renewal
Romans 12:1&2 reads “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
What does ‘renewing your mind’ mean? First, we must establish, by Holy scripture that we are created new in Christ and have a new mind in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! “
1 Corinthians 2:16 reads, “for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Jesus told us that this choice, the choice to stay in Him, must be made everyday.
In Luke 9:23, Jesus says, “... “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Jesus puts this directly on our desires, “Whoever wants…”
Do you want your mind renewed and do you want to be the disciple of Christ He wants you to be? Do you desire to know all you can of Christ and to walk in the Spirit every moment of everyday and to know His joy fully?
Most will say yes, of course. But what evidence is there in our lives?
A living sacrifice, Romans 12:1&2, is dead to the old self, (sin living in us-Romans 7:17) because that person has chosen to die to self in Christ daily-constantly. This person has given over control of mind and body to God’s Spirit in them.
That is a constant battle-but-not a losing battle-we are more than ‘conquerors’ in Christ(Romans 8:37).
It is time for us all to see our truth in Christ. He has our souls in His possession to grow with His eternal power. Jesus has told us what we need to know His joy fully(John 15:11) so we can glorify God with our lives.
Tell God constantly to renew your mind as you depend on His living power in you to choose His life against the sin of the enemy.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in heaven,
Glory to Your name above all. Your kingdom desires come in my heart to do your will. Increase my desire for You to renew my mind. Forgive my sinful desires. Lead me away from wickedness.
Father of Life,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
