Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Colossians 3:16

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 30-32 1 Peter 4

Mastered by The Lord Jesus

2 Peter 2:19b- “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

What occupies your thoughts?

What are you doing first today?

What will you do next?

What will you do then?

What will be your last thought today?

Try this:

Train yourself--practice saying, "Thank you for the day, Lord"--just as you say, "Good morning, Lord".

Set a time in the middle of the day--at noon or 1 o'clock to say Lord, give me peace".

Look at the clock on the hour and say, "Lord, I want to listen to you".

We talk about stopping in the middle of our earthly lives and being still before God. In some religions, folks stop and pray many times a day in the middle of work or play.

Daniel 6:10 “Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and imploring his God.…”

Daniel was 'petitioning and imploring' God. Daniel was not repeating prayers written by someone else, he was pleading with God in his prayers. Jesus gave us a 'model' prayer in that He said, "Pray in this manner..."--Jesus said pray 'like' this, He did not say repeat this prayer over and over. He said, "Pray in this manner...".God is the best friend you will ever have. He never leaves us. Why is it so hard for us to just bring Him in on everything-in our minds? He is not an elephant in the room. He is God in this life. Stop ignoring Him. Ask Him-tell Him-thank him-laugh with Him-cry on Him. God is there for it all because He loves each of us as much as anyone else in the world.

Try whatever works for you to keep the Lord on your mind all the time because, “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

1 Peter 4:2...to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God...verse 6...they might live in the spirit the way God does.

It is all over the scriptures-everywhere we look-God's desire is for His children to live the way He does and for us to love Him with all we have. We must seize this gravity-this most serious purpose-and do whatever it takes to walk as Jesus walked and love as Jesus loved.

1 John 2:6 ►New International Version

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

And Jesus is right here-all the time.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your Holy name. Your kingdom come in my heart and Your will be done in my life. Give me today what You want me to have. Forgive me for turning away from you. Lead me from evil.

Father of all,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
