Make The Message Clear

Friday, October 11, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: Psalm 62:1

For God alone my soul waits in silence;

from him comes my salvation.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Isaiah 65-66 1 Timothy 2

Make the Message Clear

Paul writes from his prison in Rome and says this:

2 Keep persisting in prayer, staying alert in it and being thankful. 3 Include prayer for us, too, that God may open a door for us to proclaim the message about the secret of the Messiah — for that is why I am in prison. 4 And pray that I may speak, as I should, in a way that makes the message clear.(Colossians 4)

"...to proclaim the message about the secret of the Messiah. That is why I am here".

God wanted all to know why Paul was in prison-or anywhere-to spread the gospel.

We must keep this in our minds. This is not just the urgency of the Gospel-it is the urgency of life. Jesus is life. These are not just words from Paul. These should be words from all of us.

"This is why I am here."

So, we have these words from Paul:

"Stay alert in persistent prayer and in thanksgiving."

"Pray that God may open a door for me (for us) to proclaim the message about Christ in a way that makes the message clear."

"Know why you are here."

This is our lot in this life for Christ. A life empowered to speak the blessed word of Christ anywhere we may be in prayerful thanksgiving.

Make this a matter of prayer. Pray that it is the cry of your heart.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all else. Your kingdom is home. Give me Your bread today to live your message. Forgive me for not persisting in prayer and thanksgiving. Lead me away from lethargy.

Empowering and mighty God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
