Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Hebrews 10:35-36

35 “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”

Today’s reading: Isaiah 32-33 Colossians 1

Make Disciples

Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

Making disciples has always been hard to do. First, the power of the Holy Spirit grows a disciple-not the efforts of consistent teachers. The teachers are a tool in the hands of God, absolutely, but God plants the desire in a single heart that either recognizes it for what it is or channels that energetic desire to something else. This puts growth squarely in the lap of the believer. The desire is there, How do I know?

Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

My first job as a ‘discipler’, our job, is to show people how to delight themselves in the Lord which means we must get good at being delighted in the Lord and it will show-your light will shine for all to see.(Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”)

Our biggest problem today is that our disgust for something in the world displaces our delight in the Lord. Jesus did not tell us teach His disgust with sin-did He? No-but we teach with our words and attitudes and actions-so what have you taught lately.

Find your delight in the Lord and it will show. If you keep finding disgust on the internet, that is all you life will reflect.

Pray this every morning and evening: Psalm 90:14-”Satisfy me in the morning with your steadfast love so that I may rejoice and be glad all my days”.

If you ‘can’t get no satisfaction’, you are looking in the wrong place-there is only one source of real satisfaction-the heart of God.

Ask God,

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your very name is joy and delight. Your kingdom come and Your will be done. Give me what You know I need for today. Forgive me for allowing my mind to be consumed by the world. Lead me away from evil.

God of all power and joy,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
