Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, load me with desire to seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your insight to righteousness. Hold my attention constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Verse of the day- 2 Peter 3:9
9 “The Lord is not slow to do what he promised, as some consider slowness. Instead, he is patient for your sakes, not wanting anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance.”
Today’s reading: Job 11-13 Acts 9:1-21
Life Stability
Reading God’s word is the foundation of the stability of our lives in Christ. My heart cry as a Christian discipler/encourager is to see brothers and sisters develop into people whose faith is so deep and unshakable they are like this:
“...they grow strong, like a tree planted by a stream— a tree that produces fruit when it should and has leaves that never fall. Everything they do is successful.”(Psalm 1:3)
‘Success in everything’, again, is concerning God’s kingdom in Christ.
Years ago on a mission trip, we drove down the coast road from Cancun to Belize after a big hurricane. In one place for what seemed like miles, the trees were snapped off about 8 to 10 feet above the ground. It was such a sad sight. Now, when I cross our river bridge here in Kerrville, I see downriver the young cypress tress that were bent, fully submerged, by the July fourth flood of 2025. They bent but did not break as the trees in Mexico broken by wind and rain.
The river trees here are planted by the water-they are bent but not broken and still thriving.
The world will try to break us but, in Christ, we bend in the flood but God will sustain us by His Spirit of Truth and His Living Word of life and light.
Read God’s word regularly-like you eat when you are hungry. Dine on God’s word when you don’t ‘feel like it’. It always satisfies.
Jesus is Lord.
...because He loves us…
Father in Heaven,
Your word in Your name is life. Your kingdom is life. Give me desire today for Your life. Forgive me for my laziness about Your word.
Father of Joy,
In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,
Amen
