Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Verse of the day—Psalm 149:4- “For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.”
Today’s reading: Psalm 77-78 Romans 10
Let God Be Your Story
Our Lord came and died to give us a guarantee that is perfect. He even marked us as His. (We have been marked and sealed up by the Holy Spirit-
Ephesians 4:30- Neither be grieving the Holy Spirit of God, for you have been sealed in him for the day of redemption.)
We belong to Him, Christ Jesus, Lord God-Almighty—inhabited by the Holy Spirit of God. There are many divisions, factions, sects, and denominations. So how do we know which is right? We don’t-if we leave it to someone else—the final destination of our souls and the truth about our relationship with the Father—if we listen to someone else, it is a sin. If you base your relationship with God on someone else’s word, (besides the Holy Scripture where it says the Holy Spirit bears witness), you are wrong.
So, let’s all be right. Be right by letting the word of God tell your story. Let the word of God finish your story. Let the Word of God fill in the blanks and connect the dots. Let the Word of God change your story from tragic to terrific—from bound up to boundless—from lost to lifted. Let the Holy Spirit bear witness.
Romans 8:16 And the Spirit himself speaks to our spirits and makes us sure that we are God’s children.
The key is the small word ‘let’. Let go of the spiritual inhibitions that limit the power. Let go of the ‘old man’ sins that so easily beset us. Let go of the old misconceptions of how things are supposed to be. Let go of fear—all kinds. Why our grasp is so tight on these worthless things, no clue I have. But we ‘white-knuckle’ choke them as long as we can. Let go and let God—allow—encourage—beg—plead—whatever it takes to wrap your mind around it. (We never have to beg and plead God-as long as we are that humble.) Our hearts and minds must give up all else for God consciousness.
So let it happen—it will if we do not stop it with our sin...and throw ourselves on His mercy.
…because He loves us… He will do it...
Father in Heaven,
Your name is all. I want to feel Your kingdom in me. Forgive me for arguing with You and ignoring You. Have mercy on me and lead me to the righteous life in You.
Righteous and forgiving God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
