Know Your Worth To God

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Joshua 1:9

9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Verse of the day- Luke 11:13

13 “Even though you’re evil, you know how to give good gifts to your children. So how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

Today’s reading:  Ezra 6-8 John 21

Fear Not, Therefore…

We cannot speak about the commands of Jesus without talking about the wrath of God.

Jesus talked more about Hell than anyone else in the Bible.

A place of grinding and gnashing of teeth, (Matthew 8:12 and 13:41,42).

Jesus calls it a ‘hell of fire’, (Matthew 5:22), ‘eternal fire’, Matthew (25:41), unquenchable fire, (Mark 9:43), and ‘eternal punishment’ (Matt. 25:46).

Jesus also said, “Fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matt. 10:28).

The ‘him’, when word for word translated, says, ‘the’-‘I am able’. This clearly means God-this is the wrath of God Paul speaks of in Ephesians 2.

The point for us today is that we don’t miss what comes directly after Matthew 10:28-Just after, Jesus says fear ‘Him who can destroy’, He says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?...Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows”.

So, here are two commands of Jesus, 1) Fear Him who can destroy; 2) Fear not-know how much you are worth to God.

How much are you worth to God? John 3:16-God loves you so much that He gave Jesus to die for you so that He(God) could have you with Him forever.

Yes, without Christ as Lord, anyone is doomed.

In Christ, we are commanded by Christ, Himself, to fear not-know Your value to God and tell the world(Matthew 10:32) and fear not.

You may have a hard time putting this together and making it happen in your life, so, tell God what you are feeling and tell Him you want your desire to increase to do His will.

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is so lofty and high it is hard for my words. Let Your kingdom come in my heart and Your will be done in my life. Give me great desire today to acknowledge you in front of my world. Forgive me my cowardice. Deliver me from evil.

My God of infinite power,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
