Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day-James 4:10

10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”

Today’s reading: Exodus 14-15 Matthew 17

Just Ask

The child watched as her grandpa pulled his watch out of his bib-pocket of his overalls as she had seen him do many times. How she wanted to just hold it in her hands. One day she told her father that she would really like to see grandpa's watch. The loving father took his daughter by the hand and went out on the porch to his father and stood daughter's hand in his hands and said,

"Now tell grandpa what you told me".

The tiny child looked up into the face of the gentle old man and slowly said, "Grandpa, may I see your watch?"

Grandpa took the child up with his beaten and scarred hands and set her in his lap. He took the watch out and said,

"All you had to do was ask, sweetie".

John 16:26 "26 In that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.…"

Jesus tells us in this passage that He is the way to God the Father but we must look God in the face and tell me what we want. Jesus will not ask for us but He is always there with us. No come comes to the Father without Jesus, John 14, but Jesus died so we could speak directly to God.

Hold the hand of Jesus and ask...

All you have to do is ask.

...because He loves us so much...

Father in Heaven, Forgive my fear of coming directly to you, great God. Fill me with your peace and comfort.

Gentle and welcoming Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus, my Lord,

Amen
