“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: John 1:1-2,14

1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God... 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 40-41 2 Peter 3

What Does That Mean?

I John 1 says: "...7 if we are walking in the light, as He(Jesus)is in the light..."

What does it mean to 'walk in the light'?

Walking in the light, Number 1-Speak and live the truth-yes we sin.

Verse 6 says: "If we claim to have fellowship with him while we are walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living out the truth."

Then, 8 "If we claim not to have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

And, 10 "If we claim we have not been sinning, we are making him out to be a liar, and his Word is not in us."

Walking in the light, Number 2-From the truth, confess your sins.

9 "If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing."

Walking in the light, Number 3-Truly love the 'brothers'-and sisters-the body of Christ.

I John 2:10 says,"Whoever loves his brother is in the light".

Be truthful about your sin; acknowledge, admit, confess your sin to God; truly love God's family.

Lying to yourself is lying to God and, well, there is no good sense in that.

Walking in the light is not being perfect-we do sin as we walk in the light or else this chapter would not be in the Bible.

We must examine our feelings toward one another and give them to God in Christ Jesus and let the Holy Spirit continue to shape us into the image of Christ so we can

"...walk in the light as He is in the light."

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

You are light-holy and eternal light-the light of Your kingdom. Give me today's bread to live out Your truth. Forgive me for lying about my sin. Lead me away from lying.

Father of truth and light,
