In My Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

It occurs to me that in all of our achievments by worldly standards, we exhaust everything we have-our bodies, minds, emotions-proving how adequate we may be(or not) and as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 1:14 ►"I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind."

This reward we harvest in this world-a badge to hang on our chest:

"Champion wind chaser"

Now, what does the Bible say?

"I will brag more about how weak I am so I can show how dependent I am on Christ and how mighty He is in His kingdom."

No badge of 'best' on my chest-- but bruises on my knees, I pray.

Thank You, Lord for covering me and filling me with your power to show Your strength in my weakness.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

One breath of Your name is more power than the world has or will ever experience. Give me what I need today to share Your mighty name. Forgive me my dependence on my strength in the world. Lead me away from 'world love'.
