How Was It?

‎Friday, ‎December ‎31, ‎2021

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.—Psalm 90:1-2

Memory of the Month: Psalm 33:4

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

Today's reading: MALACHI 1-4 REVELATION 22

How Was It?

How was this year at your house-in your heart? Has it been a year of trials that brought you to your knees? Has it been a time of pain or has it been a time of rejoicing over great things that have happened?

Many would say, "Well, when it's good it's good but when it's bad it's bad".

For all of us, it should have been a time of learning, always learning. When times are good, we must continue to learn how to give thanks and make sure the praise goes where it is supposed to go. God is our source of blessing-all blessings.

James 1:17 ►Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

We should be looking for good and perfect gifts, but this world does not provide good and perfect gifts-these only come from God. Have you looked to Him for your supply of good and perfect gifts this year or are you still depending on the world system for your 'good' stuff?

I know. This does not sound like I even live in this world. This does not seem to fit reality. That's because we have for so long allowed the world to define our reality.

I have gotten to the point where as I pray for someone's physical healing that I cannot be comfortable with just that. Why? I mean a physical healing is glorious but what good is a physical healing if we miss the point. What point, you ask? If God uses all things to our good as we are transformed into the image of His Son, the point is a treasure-a good and perfect treasure God has for us from whatever illness or injury we have been through. Do we miss this treasure by celebrating the healing? Or, do we look past the miraculous into God's deep wisdom?

We must remember that Jesus did not heal everyone but He did try to teach them all. This message cannot be missed. God is trying to teach us all, all the time everyday of every year, God is trying to get our attention and with that comes his infinite wisdom.

Consider the very basics. 1 Thessalonians 5:16, 17, 18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

How hard is it for you to rejoice in all things-all things? I still have a hard time rejoicing when pain temporarily makes me see stars or when I see injustice or oppression. I know this all sounds next to impossible, but nothing is impossible with God.

If God's word says to rejoice in all things, He definitely has the wisdom to share on how it is to be done.

Continuous rejoicing-unending prayer and thanksgiving-all possible in God's wisdom. It is everyday, common sense to God and He is always willing, if we will listen, to teach us more and more. God knows we can only take a little at a time and He is patient with us-as we must learn to wait on Him. There is that word 'learn' again.

In every movement of life, God has wisdom to build in our hearts, souls, and minds.

Don't give up. Don't lean on the temporary because it is easy. Trust God. Trusting God is learned. Loving God is learned.

Do not fret for what you missed this year. Look forward to what God has waiting. If Jesus does not return, God has much wisdom to learn.

I will not say happy new year-I will say 'happy yearning to learn'.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not paying attention-for not listening-for being so caught up in my own stuff. Have mercy on me.

Mighty and endless source of all wisdom.

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
