How Much More?

Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...
Verse of the Day: Luke 1:32&33 " He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
Today's reading: Amos 7-9 Revelation 8
How Much More
Hebrews 9:14 "Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God..."
How much more, indeed? How much more could we ask of God? This season marks the coming of His Son who sets us free from sin and death(Romans 8:2); His blood frees our minds from guilt and shame(Hebrews 9:14) so we can know the joy of true worship(Romans 12:1&2); (John 3:16)-We shall not die.
Well, He walks with us, inhabits us, counsels us, strengthens us, thrills us, calms us, relieves us-He gives us everything we will ever need to fulfill the desires He places in our hearts.
Romans 8:32 "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
And we say in passing, "Merry Christmas!?"-really?
I believe this is one more reason for this Bible verse:
26..."the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27
The question is not how much more can Christ do-the question is "...how much more can we come to know, love and obey Him"
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Your name is far above my words. Your kingdom come and let me yearn to do Your will. Give me Your bread today for my obedience and duties. Forgive me for my self-pity. Lead me away from judging folks.
Father of all strength and wisdom,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
