Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Jeremiah 29:11

11 For ‘I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity’ and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Holy to Hallow

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:13–16

We are to let our light shine before others to give glory to God our Heavenly Father. The main thing in Jesus’ mind is bringing glory to God, His father. Remember, “Hallowed be thy name”, the first thought of Jesus in His model prayer?

Somewhere along our path we must realize that there is nothing more important in the universe than the glory of God. There will be arguments, of course, but go to the Bible, and disprove that statement-it cannot be done.

So what is the glory of God? The reality of His endless perfections is the glory of God. Words fall so short but His glory is His moral beauty. His purity and righteousness can be experienced but not verbalized.

Our light shines the brightest when we, in our hearts, honor God’s holiness at all times with all our emotions. As one martyr was burning to death at the stake, all He could say was “Jesus”. In all his pain and anguish-all his exploding emotions, all he had to say was the name of Jesus.

This is our goal. Not that we be the most verbally eloquent speakers or the largest monetary givers or the hardest laborers in God’s kingdom but that instead of being engulfed in our lives for God in Christ, but that we be engulfed by the glory of God in Christ.

This is a long way off for some of us but this distance is only in our own reservations. We are limited by our shallow knowledge and efforts to know and love God.

Matthew 22:37-39 says we are to love God with all-our heart, soul, and mind-all-

Don’t just throw up the hands of your heart, soul and mind and say “I can’t do that!”-throw up your hands to God and ask Him to show you what you must release-your control, your fear of rejection of the world-your selfishness-whatever it is, it is sin.

Ask God to show you how to turn ‘Holy’ into a verb and show you how to use What He is providing for you to ‘Hallow’ his name.

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Most holy and High God, your Heavenly realm runs free with your glory. My heart begs to know more. I must do better at obeying. Forgive me my stubborn and sinful heart. Lead me away from wickedness.

Fathomlessly glorious God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
